ELGA Credit Union, one of FUNchitecture’s longest running and FUNnest clients, approached the firm about performing a modern-day miracle on a building that hadn’t been occupied in over four decades. A true art deco gem in its heyday, this dilapidated, boarded-up building in downtown Flint had become a direlect symbol of the community’s longtime struggles. The team at ELGA was determined to have a presence in downtown Flint and selected this classic building to make a statement and serve as their newest branch in the heart of the city.
